When Our Worlds Collide - Sonadow Version

Perfection, all he ever wanted was to be perfect, though it seemed like he would never get it. A healthy and beautiful baby boy was born to a sickly mother hedgehog. Sadly, she passed away not too long after the childbirth. The cobalt blue pup, named Sonic, would have been given to his father; but unfortunately, he lost his life in a horrible plane crash only months earlier. Thus, the infant was placed up for adoption.

Six years had then passed since Sonic was orphaned and he was still unable to find parents willing to adopt him. But, by this time, he was used to it—Adoption Day always came at the beginning of the month, and the grown-ups only wanted to take the infants and toddlers home with them. But, Sonic didn't care anymore; he was so used to being rejected that he didn't even try to look his best when the big day rolled around. He would just simply curl up in a corner and cry, constantly asking himself, 'Why doesn't anyone want me?... Is there something wrong with me?... No one loves me; I'm all alone in the world…Did I do something wrong?'

However, all that was about to change.

Adoption Day arrived yet again and Sonic sat in his corner, as usual. He simply buried his face in his peach furred arms and listened to the approaching and retreating footsteps of potential parents. But, two sets of footsteps seemed to stop directly in front of him. As a matter of fact, they did! The pup was cautious at first, but when he looked up, he met the warm gaze of a middle-aged hedgehog couple.

"Oh, Jules, he's perfect!" the wife exclaimed.

"She sure is," the husband smiled. The little pup's emerald eyes grew wide and he was speechless. This is what he'd been waiting for. The wife, named Aleena, held out her hand and her smile made the little pup feel safe in her loving embrace.

"How would you like to go home with us?"

Moments later, the adoption papers were signed and Sonic was on his way home, at last.
